Otomo Yoshihide
Guitarist/Turntable Player/Composer/Producer
Born in Yokohama, Japan, 1959.
Otomo has been active in performing concerts, collaborating and
recording with numerous musicians and artists worldwide,
while maintaining his independent stance. He is always pursuing
sound on an experimental basis in varied areas of music, such as
free jazz, improvisation, noise music, contemporary music,
electronic music, and film and TV drama music. In recent years,
he has also been working on sound installation at museums,
improvised music workshops for the children with learning
disabilities, and "kayokyoku" ; a particular genre of Japanese pop
music. As a Film/TV/Video soundtrack composer, he has
demonstrated exceptional talent for the works of Kiyoshi
Kurosawa, Shinji Somai, Shinji Aoyama, Tian Zhuangzhuan,
Ann Hoi, and etc.

Chikara Iwai
Filmmaker/Artist
Born in Gunma, Japan, 1977.
By using different types of materials and medium such as video,
2D, 3D and installations, Iwai's works approach to refer to the
particular phenomenon derived from "Recordings and recorded
plate or media". In addition to the involvement in contemporary
art with the award winning film at "One Minute Word Festival" in
Brazil, he also creates PVs and short films for
musicians in Japan and abroad. After committing himself at a TV
production company "TV MAN UNION", he started filming a
documentary of a world−renowned musician, Otomo Yoshihide
in 2005. Since 2006, Iwai is running an event space, "GRID605",
in collaboration with Otomo.
